*Mumbai*, Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), in partnership with Aspire For Her, hosted the Mumbai zonal round of its nationwide Generative AI hackathon under the #WomenWhoMaster initiative. The event, held at MET College in Bandra, saw women developers and STEM students from across the region come together to solve real-world problems using emerging technologies.
This initiative is a coordinated nationwide effort led by Logitech MX and Aspire For Her to democratize access to future-ready tech skills, mentorship, and career pathways. Designed as an end-to-end skill-building movement, the hackathon equips women with Generative AI capabilities, proving that applied Generative AI skills can serve as a direct catalyst for financial independence and career advancement. Demonstrating nationwide impact, the movement has mobilized nearly 100,000 women across 15,729 colleges and 5,107 cities, with over 60% of applicants coming from Tier 2 cities and below.
As the program and implementation partner, Aspire For Her helped translate the nationwide initiative into an end-to-end participant journey. Drawing on its community and institutional network, Aspire For Her supported outreach, participant mobilisation, generative AI enablement, mentoring and the coordination of zonal rounds across eight locations. Beyond the competition, participants will also gain access to a wider ecosystem of mentorship, skilling, peer learning and career opportunities designed to help women build sustained careers in technology.
The initiative aims to address the persistent gender gap in technology by expanding access to STEM skills, mentorship, and career opportunities for women and girls. In Mumbai, 194 women participated in the regional zonal event. Participants worked on key Generative AI challenges focused on impactful real-world solutions across healthcare, career advancement, and financial literacy. Highlights included AI-driven women’s health navigators providing symptom navigation and decision support for conditions like PCOS, personalized financial data visualization tools to boost investment literacy, and tailored LLM platforms designed to guide career transitions and support women re-entering the workforce after career breaks.
Shortlisted participants from the Mumbai zonal will now advance to the Grand Finale on September 10 at Logitech’s Chennai HQ, competing among 112 national finalists for top honors.
Speaking on the initiative, *Grace Lokako, Global Marketing Manager, MX at Logitech said*, “As India’s financial and commercial hub, Mumbai’s ecosystem thrives on rapid innovation, making it crucial that women are equal leaders in shaping AI solutions for enterprise and technology. Supporting India’s broader digital-skilling priorities, platforms like MET College demonstrate how industry-academia collaborations can bridge the gender gap. Equipping women here with Generative AI capabilities directly strengthens India’s digital economy.”
