Mamta Pratishthan Organises ‘Ideological Birth Anniversary Festival of Great Leaders’ in Mumbai

Event celebrates Constitution, community heritage, and achievements of marginalized voices

Mumbai: Mamta Pratishthan recently organised a two-day “Ideological Birth Anniversary Festival of Great Leaders” at Marol, Andheri. The event commenced on Monday evening, April 13, with the inauguration of an exhibition showcasing a replica of the Indian Constitution, the Preamble, and informative displays on the contributions of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to the nation. The exhibition also highlighted the history and inspirational figures of the Nathpanthi Davari Gosavi community and the Matang community, along with a book exhibition.

On this occasion, a guidance camp related to job recruitment in the railway and banking sectors was organised. Railway officer Prashant Dolas and former officer S. K. Singh provided valuable guidance to the attendees. BJP leader Umesh Rane and Advocate Amit Sasane were also present during the event.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, a collective Buddhist prayer was held at 11:00 AM. This was followed by a lecture on “What is the Constitution?” delivered by Advocate and constitutional expert Nilesh Jagannath Khanvilkar. Congress leader Imran Sheikh was also present on this occasion.

In the evening at 6:30 PM, senior journalist and author Sanjeev Bhagwat spoke on the topic “Is the Matang Community Becoming Modern?” Additionally, Machhindra Bhosale, National President of the Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Organisation, delivered a lecture on “Nathpanthi Davari Gosavi Community: Past, Present and Future.”

During the event, distinguished individuals from marginalized communities were felicitated for their achievements, including Dr. Nishant Rajendra Borade, Engineer Swapnil Premji Suryavanshi, and entrepreneur Sanjana Nainesh Jagtap. Corporator Pramod Sawant was also present at the programme.

Copies of the Preamble of the Constitution were distributed among attendees during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mamta Pratishthan Secretary Pramod Sawant stated that the objective of organising such a unique celebration was to ensure that the thoughts and ideologies of great leaders reach the younger generation. The event has been widely appreciated by people from all sections of society.
