Why does Sidharth Malhotra’s fate lead him to Vvaan? The teaser hints his entry into the forest may be anything but accidental

What if Sidharth Malhotra isn't simply the man who chooses to enter Vvaan? What if Vvaan has been waiting for him?

That is one theory the teaser leaves hanging. Right from the beginning, the forest is established as a place ordinary people are expected to stay away from. There is a rule against entering after sunset, there is a history of people who ventured in and never returned, and there is clearly an ancient force guarding the space. Yet Sidharth’s character is seemingly drawn towards it.

Instead of asking “Why does he enter the forest?”, perhaps we should be asking “Why is he the one being pulled towards it?”

The teaser doesn’t present his entry like a random act of curiosity. There is an almost magnetic quality to his connection with Vvaan. He crosses a boundary that generations have been warned not to cross, and once inside, finds himself face-to-face with a world that appears to operate by an entirely different set of rules.

Here’s where the conspiracy theory gets interestin – could Sidharth’s character have a connection to Vvaan that predates his own discovery of it?

Perhaps the forest isn’t revealing itself to him by chance. Perhaps there is an unfinished story, an old connection or even a destiny attached to his arrival. The fact that the teaser repeatedly places him at the centre of Vvaan’s supernatural mythology makes it difficult to see his entry as merely the beginning of an adventure.

And then there’s Tamannaah Bhatia’s character. Her apparent connection to the supernatural force suggests that whatever Sidharth encounters inside Vvaan doesn’t remain there. Once he decides to venture into the woods, a series of events seem to spiral out of the woods’ boundaries.

That could mean Sidharth isn’t simply investigating an old legend. He could be walking back into one.
Maybe Vvaan isn’t a mystery waiting to be uncovered. Maybe it is a story that already knows who its next character is.

Backed by some of the country’s most distinctive storytellers, The Vvaan brings together TVF’s Arunabh Kumar, director Deepak Mishra and Ektaa Kapoor for a commercial film that attempts to take Indian folklore into a new cinematic space. While its world is rooted in folklore and fantasy, the film brings together adventure, mystery and humour to shape itself as a complete family entertainer. The ambition extends beyond the film, with The Legend of Vvaan comic book already introducing audiences to the larger folklore surrounding its universe.

Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with TVF and 11.11 Production, The Vvaan stars Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. Written by Arunabh Kumar and directed by Deepak Mishra, with Manu Anand as DOP and Visual Director, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

The Vvaan arrives in cinemas on September 25, 2026, promising a big-screen fantasy folklore experience where the visuals, music, mystery and scale come together to create a world audiences will want to step into.
