World of Concrete India 2025 Showcases Green Innovation and Industry Leadership in Construction

From low-carbon cement to AI-powered machinery, the 11th edition highlights India’s concrete sector as a catalyst for sustainable infrastructure and global collaboration

The 11th edition of World of Concrete India has emerged as a defining moment for the country’s construction and concrete industry, spotlighting the sector’s transition toward sustainability, innovation, and resilience. With participation from top industry leaders, technology providers, and policy influencers, the event reflects the growing urgency to build smarter, greener, and more inclusive infrastructure across India.

India’s concrete and cement industry, long regarded as a cornerstone of national development, is now undergoing a profound transformation. The sector is embracing low-carbon technologies, digitized workflows, and circular economy principles to meet the demands of rapid urbanization and climate-conscious construction.

Industry stalwarts such as Amar Choudhary (CEO, Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd.), Thomas Guilhot (CEO, Global Cement and Concrete Association), Ajay Kapur (CEO, Adani Cement), and V. Gopalakrishnan (Director of Marketing, UltraTech Cement Ltd.) shared insights on how their organizations are driving innovation while aligning with global sustainability benchmarks. Their remarks emphasized the need for collaborative action across the value chain—from raw material sourcing to end-of-life recycling.

One of the key themes of the event was the integration of advanced technologies into construction workflows. Sandeep Singh, Managing Director of Tata Hitachi, highlighted the role of AI-powered machinery, predictive maintenance, and real-time data analytics in improving project efficiency and safety. These tools are enabling faster execution, reduced waste, and better resource management on construction sites.

Sessions on green building practices explored the use of alternative binders, recycled aggregates, and carbon capture techniques in cement production. Experts discussed how innovations such as self-healing concrete and geopolymer blends are reshaping material science and offering scalable solutions for low-emission construction.

Government representatives and urban planners also weighed in on policy frameworks and public-private partnerships. Dhananjay Sawalkar, Director of R&D (Civil) at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, spoke about municipal initiatives to promote sustainable procurement and lifecycle cost analysis in public infrastructure projects. His presentation underscored the importance of integrating environmental metrics into urban planning and civic engineering.

The event also served as a platform for industry associations such as the Builders Association of India, represented by National President Rajendra Singh Kachhap, to advocate for regulatory reforms, skill development, and inclusive growth. Discussions focused on the need to streamline approvals, incentivize green certifications, and support MSMEs in adopting sustainable practices.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, emphasized the role of industry platforms in fostering dialogue and innovation. “World of Concrete India is not just a showcase—it’s a convergence of ideas, technologies, and partnerships that will shape the future of India’s built environment,” he said.

Sandeep Singh, Group Director of Construction at Informa Markets, added that the event reflects the sector’s readiness to embrace change. “From material innovation to digital transformation, the industry is evolving rapidly. Our goal is to accelerate this momentum through knowledge exchange and strategic collaboration.”

The exhibition floor featured over 100 companies presenting cutting-edge solutions in concrete technology, construction equipment, and infrastructure services. From modular precast systems to smart batching plants, the diversity of offerings highlighted the sector’s adaptability and ambition.

India’s concrete industry is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of over 7% in the coming years, driven by demand from housing, transportation, and industrial corridors. With increasing emphasis on ESG compliance and climate resilience, the sector is poised to play a pivotal role in achieving national infrastructure goals.

World of Concrete India 2025 reaffirmed that the future of construction lies in sustainability, innovation, and shared responsibility. As stakeholders across the ecosystem come together to build not just structures but solutions, the event stands as a beacon for what India’s infrastructure journey can—and must—become
