Mumbai, 4 September 2025 — The historic Dahi Handi celebration organized by Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan in Thane has once again brought global recognition to Maharashtra. Thirteen years ago, on 10 August 2012, the event had earned a place in the Guinness World Records. Now, in a remarkable repeat, the Kokannagar Govinda Pathak has successfully formed a 10-tier human pyramid, setting a new world record.
In the presence of Shri Siddhivinayak, this extraordinary feat was officially acknowledged by Mr. Swapnil Dangarikar, Senior Adjudicator of Guinness World Records, who presented the certificate during a vibrant ceremony held at Siddhivinayak Temple, Prabhadevi.
With Ganeshotsav currently underway, the organizers credited the blessings of Lord Siddhivinayak for this achievement. The ceremony was intentionally held at the temple to express gratitude and seek strength for future endeavors.

Special thanks were extended to the Maharashtra State Dahi Handi Govinda Association, whose consistent support and guidance made this record possible.
The Kokannagar Govinda Pathak has now become the first team to officially register a 10-tier pyramid in the Guinness World Records, marking a historic moment for Maharashtra’s cultural legacy. Their success is attributed to rigorous training, disciplined practice, and a fearless commitment to the challenge.
Leaders and dignitaries, including Transport Minister Shri Pratap Sarnaik and Yuva Sena President Shri Purvesh Sarnaik, were praised for their visionary leadership and tireless efforts that elevated the Thane Dahi Handi celebration to global prominence.
Speaking at the event, Yuva Sena President Purvesh Sarnaik said, “Dahi Handi is not just a tradition—it is a symbol of Maharashtra’s cultural identity.
