Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi meets Indian leaders to push for cooperation, peace along borders, and strategic alignment ahead of PM Modi’s China visit.
In a significant diplomatic development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi concluded his two-day visit to New Delhi with a message of partnership and mutual respect. During meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval, Wang Yi emphasized that India and China should view each other as partners, not rivals, reaffirming Beijing’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and strategic cooperation.
The discussions focused on:
- Border stability and de-escalation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC)

- Multilateral cooperation in global forums like the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)
Chinese spokesperson Mao Ning stated that both nations must “strengthen exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, and allow the world to witness the immense potential of India-China cooperation”.
